The Difference Between Coaching and Training (And One Tip That Will Make You Better at Both)
In the world of coaching, there is alot of confusion around what coaching actually is.

Perseverance at a young age can shape a person into a stronger and more capable adult. Many people think that children should always succeed or have everything figured out early in life, but that is not always what helps them grow. In reality, it is okay for children to struggle, make mistakes, and even fail sometimes.
When children don’t win every time, they learn important life lessons. They learn how to be patient, how to keep trying, and how to handle disappointment. These experiences help build resilience, which is something they will need later in life.
As a teacher, I have seen this firsthand. I remember one student in particular who struggled a lot with reading. At the beginning of the year, they would get frustrated easily and wanted to give up. They didn’t like reading out loud and often said, “I can’t do it.”
But over time, something changed. Instead of giving up, the student started trying more. They asked for help, practiced every day, and kept going even when it was hard. It wasn’t a fast improvement, but little by little, they got better.
By the end of the year, that same student was raising their hand to read in class.
They were more confident and proud of themselves. The most important thing wasn’t just that their reading improved—it was that they learned they could overcome something difficult.
Moments like that remind me why perseverance matters so much. Some students may struggle academically, but their determination stands out. That persistence will help them grow not only in school but in life.
In the future, these students may become strong leaders. They understand what it means to face challenges and keep going. Because of that, they will be better prepared to handle difficult situations and help others along the way.
In the end, perseverance is one of the most important qualities a person can develop. It is not about being perfect or winning all the time—it is about continuing to try, even when things are hard. That is what truly makes someone stronger.
I’m asking you this question to finish my thought: What is one small step you can take this
week to keep trying, even when something feels difficult?
